Your web copy is what that is given the highest importance by both the search engines and the users because both are looking for information this why, Body Text Optimization is a very important part of Search Engine Optimization. It is used by Search Engines to determine the subject matter of a webpage and rank it accordingly. It contains all the contents of the document i.e. text, images, colors, graphics, tables etc. Body text is the text on a web page which appears between the and tags.

A search engine identifies your web pages topic be reading its first 2-3 paragraphs so you need to include your most important keywords in your first 2-3 paragraphs rather than using a wonderful graphic.

A web page loaded with tons of Flash animations and graphics is a great way how not to be found on a search engine. Search engines cannot read the text in a graphics this is why most experts are against using these things. Your website doesn't requires to be an eye candy just lots of useful content is what that is needed to rank high.

You should emphasize on text rather than graphics because search engines cant read your graphical images but they can read you text in your web copy. If your website's home page has a beautiful image of a wonderful beach you can't rank high for summer vacations in caribbean.

Add additional copy filled pages to your site. For example, how-to articles, tips or tutorials. These types of content pages not only help you in the search engines, but many other sites will link to them too.

If you intend to use JavaScript on your Web page it is best to use it sparingly or not at all. If you really need to use JavaScript you can safely use it by putting the code into a separate JS file and calling it with a single line of code which you place between your and tags within your Web page. The code used to include your JS file looks like this:

Just like with the Title tag optimization and Heading tags, keeping long keyword phrases together in your page text is a must. However, if you can't do so, splitting the phrase up is better than not using it at all.

Try to keep your keyword density between 2-3% while putting your user at ease don't try to fill your pages with only keywords that make no sense or are hard to understand for the users because if this happens bet me you are not going to make your first impression good.

At the end I will highly recommend you that you do everything but please don't overdo anything.

Tips for Optimizing Body Tag

Always try to place the most important keywords at the starting of the body text.

Try to maintain a keyword density of 3-4% in your body text. But beware don't just stuff it with keywords.

Do not use frames on your webpage. Search Engines hate frames. If you still want them on your website, then use tag.

Update your body content of important pages at regular intervals. Updating keeps your content fresh and always useful for search engines and your users.
