VoiceWing from Verizon is phone service that use Voice over Internet Protocol (VoIP) that uses your high-speed Internet connection to process the calls. You can use your traditional telephone with this service but will also need a router and adapter to take full advantage of this service. Some of the features of Verizon VoiceWing include the ability to make local, long distance, and International calls at substantially lower rates than traditional phone service providers and has features that you are already accustomed to using everyday along with a soft phone on your computer screen, and the ability to have your voice mail go directly to your email.

The way VoiceWing works is by converting the analog signature of your traditional phone into a digital signature, which travels in packets over the Internet. In order to do this you will need to have a router that changes the analog signal to a digital signal. One of the great features of VoiceWing is the ability to make and receive calls using the broadband connection while still being able to access the Internet. Verizon VoiceWing has several VoIP plans:
* VoiceWing 500
* VoiceWing Unlimited for Verizon Online DSL and FiOS
* VoiceWing Unlimited

With VoiceWing 500, you can enjoy 500 minutes for $19.95 a month. You can use those minutes to call anywhere in the United States and Canada. If you have friends and/or family in Puerto Rico, they are included free as well. Receiving calls does not count towards your purchase of 500 minutes although you will pay .04 cents per minute for incoming calls. You are required to use all minutes in one billing cycle and cannot be rolled-over to the next.

For $24.95 per month you can enjoy VoiceWing Unlimited for Verizon Online DSL and FiOS, which allow you unlimited long-distance calling anywhere in the United States and Canada as well as Puerto Rico. It includes many calling features that you enjoy with your traditional phone service. The added benefit of this feature is that you would pay for your phone and Internet on one bill if you subscribe to Verizon DSL along with VoiceWing.

If you want only the VoiceWing plan for $24.95 per month you would use your current Internet provider yet still receive unlimited local and long distance calling throughout the United States and Canada, including Puerto Rico. International rates are substantially lower than with a traditional phone service provider and you still has all the features you are accustomed to plus much more.
