1). Creating a Custom 404 Error PageEvery web surfer has encountered the dreaded 404 page not found error message.
The generic error page is horrible to look at and it does not encourage web visitors to explore more of your site.
Imagine being able to setup a custom error message page that looked good, told the visitor what had gone wrong and then suggested some alternative links to other locations on your site, such as the home page, sitemap or even a search page.

3). Harnessing the Power of Robots.txt
Once we have a website up and running, we need to make sure that all visiting search engines can access all the pages we want them to look at.
Sometimes, we may want search engines to not index certain parts of the site, or even ban other SE from the site all together.
This is where a simple, little 2 line text file called robots.txt comes in.

4). Installing A Blog ( WordPress )
WordPress is a fantastic piece of software, and what is even more amazing its Open Source, meaning it will cost you NOTHING!! And you get the source code too !!
Although its not one of the easiest software packages to learn to navigate, it sure packs heaps of power under the hood and once you start to learn some of the basics of WordPress and blogging in general, you will begin to appreciate these features more and more.
5). Put a Mini Salesman in Every Clients Pocket
When was the last time you took a long critical look at your business card?
I'd bet you haven't really thought about it since you initially got them printed.
Let's stop for just a moment and ask, what is the point of your business card? Is it to simply fill the wallets of prospective clients, or is it something that should be driving more sales to your business?
I bet you answered in the latter.
6). Redirecting web traffic to a new location
If you have to move a website from one domain to another, it will mean that all the links pointing to your old site would now be lost and would generate the dreaded 404 error when visitors came in via old search engine listing or links.
The best way to preserve your links, and have visitors end up on their required page is to setup a redirect from the old domain to the new one.
