4). Life's Prayer
After I died the first time it seemed logical to stop and contemplate our status on this planet. We were 3000 miles from home when my heart gave up and over 50% of it died and scarred over, in other words could not pump ever again. For a Type "A" person it was time to take another look at myself and where my life was taking me. An engineer by trade and poetry was never in my mind.

5). Look Where You Want to Go
When I first started in the sport of cycling about 9 years ago, I was very nervous about hitting things I didn't want to - trees, holes, rocks, drainage grates, or pillars depending on whether I was riding on the road or on a trail. The thing I noticed was that if I focused on the obstacle by looking down at it, more often than not I hit it. Of course,.

When I was a nineteen-year-old high school student and budding poet – two years after my diving accident – many factors adversely affected my creativity. My trips in a special bus to school and back home, my courses, and my assignments, though I was spared a lot of writing and was mostly tested orally, all this was time-consuming. More often than not, my obligation to study took priority over my desire to compose poetry.

11). Beginnings and Endings Create Life that is New and Fresh
Copyright 2006 Marshall House It seems that when I honor the ending, the beginning is more joyous. I admit, I do not always remember to honor the ending. Sometimes I just want the ending to end or the beginning to begin. As infants, we end our time in the womb to begin our human experience. The other day, I met a less-than-one-week-old (or is that new?) baby, filled with health and wonder, beginning a new life.
