1). Some History of Designer Breeds and The Problem
Although the concept is by no means new; many people are discovering that some of the latest breeds of super dogs are not as great as their breeders would have you believe. Goldendoodle and Labradoodle breeder Michael Waggenbach, of Sunshine Acres feels, “For a therapy dog, the Goldendoodle is the better choice. I’m not sure what it is, but they don’t tend to dust all the tabletops when walking into a hospital or an elderly home, where the Labradoodles’ tails are going back forth so fast they dust every thing off.” During an interview with Indiana Doodle Owners Group founder Beth Line, she said, “There’s a very distinct difference between Labradoodles and Goldendoodles,” Beth said.

3). When Did Dogs Become a Fashion Statements
It's become standard for anyone wanting a glamorous aura to pick out their dogs like they pick out their shoes. "Ooh - I'll have that darling one in the corner, great color - matches my handbag too!" And they're easy to find - anyone with enough money can pick out the doglet of their dreams. Perhaps even scarier than the free availability of 'designer dogs' is the fact that almost anyone can create a new breed of dog.

4). Hybrid vigour or heterosis with mixed breed dogs such as Labradoodles
Various contentions have been put forward in the dog world by some, (eg those against mixed dog breeds), that 'hybrid vigor' is allegedly not possible (for example) when breeding mixed breeds such as Labradoodles (ie mixed breeding of purebred Labradors and Poodles) as it is alleged that hybrid vigor is only possible with mixed breeding of unrelated animals (eg horse and donkey).
